On Monday, March 31, a representative from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach led a workshop at Meskwaki Workforce Development titled “Growing Your Own Garden Transplants: Demystifying Seed Starting.” Participants learned what it takes to successfully grow seedlings to transplant outdoors, including when to sow, correct temperatures and light, watering and fertilization. Everyone then planted their own tomato and pepper seeds to take home and begin their gardening endeavors.
