Just a quick description on how we approach driveways..
In the event of a blizzard/whiteout conditions, the Public Works Director will pull all trucks from the roads until after the storm has passed. Once the main roadways are cleared and treated we then move on to driveways. We also want to remind the community that the Tribe’s main roadways are our first priority and should you need to have your driveway plowed before we can get to it, please consider hiring out for those services.
When we receive less than 5” of snow, we will work on the medical priority list that is provided by the Meskwaki Health Clinic followed by elders.
When we receive 5” of snow or more, we will plow all driveways on the Settlement in no particular order after we have completed plowing and treating the main roadways.
Please be patient with us as we do sometimes get stuck and have equipment that breaks down.
