Another exciting night of basketball unfolded at Meskwaki High School as the Warriors faced the Colo-Nesco Royals on Friday December 12th.
The girls varsity team continued their impressive run, dominating Colo-Nesco with a 51 to 15 victory. The Warriors set the tone early and maintained control in all four quarters. Dorothy Bear led the scoring with 14 points while also delivering a huge presence on the boards with 15 rebounds, including 10 offensive, along with 3 steals. Martha Blackcloud added 11 points and dished out 6 assists, while Bree Scabbyrobe chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds. The balanced scoring, aggressive rebounding, and tight defense highlighted another complete performance as the Warriors once again overwhelmed their opponent.
The boys varsity game was another close battle that stayed competitive throughout. Meskwaki fought hard before falling 52 to 41 in a game that remained within reach deep into the contest. The Warriors showed resilience on both ends of the floor, keeping pressure on Colo-Nesco and battling through every possession. Despite the final score, the effort and determination were evident as the team continued to show growth and grit.
It was another strong showing for Meskwaki basketball, with the girls continuing to set the standard and the boys proving they can compete in tight games week after week.
