February is Heart Health Month

Practicing self care can keep our hearts healthy.
Being physically active, eating healthier foods, getting enough sleep, not smoking, and finding healthy ways to reduce stress can help prevent heart disease.
Patients with diabetes are twice as likely to have heart disease or a stroke than someone who doesn’t have diabetes. Let’s help prevent heart disease by walking daily, reminder 30 minutes or more of exercise each day can improve your health.

60 mile walking challenge Feb 1-29, 2024
All walking will need to be done at the Meskwaki Rec Center or Wellness Center if Rec is not open.
Deadline to sign up will be Feb 5, please call 641-484-9414 to sign up, leave a message if no answer.

Blood pressure checks on Wednesday, will be at the Rec Center 10am-11am and 3:30pm-4:30pm.

Participants that complete the challenge will receive a light-weight jacket. Must be Native American to be eligible for incentive.
