Meskwaki Annual Powwow Association to host the 108th Annual Meskwaki Powwow Princess Competition on Wed., August 7, 2024 beginning at 7:00 p.m. Please sign-in/register at 6:30 p.m.
The Meskwaki Princess Competition is an opportunity to represent the Meskwaki Nation at powwows, parades, and other engagements. The position encourages positive achievement by helping to nurture and build creative accomplishments, healthy living, and community involvement in our Nation’s youth. This competition is intended to encourage and reward the talent, communication skills, community service, of girls between 10 and 17 years of age.
Requirements:
- Meskwaki ancestry
- Good moral character
- Live within a 30-mile radius from the Settlement
- Alcohol and drug free
- Present speech
- Must wear traditional regalia
- Positively represent the Tribe at powwows
- 10 to 17 years old
