Meskwaki Diabetes Program is hosting a 2023 Walking for your Health
Let’s start the new year being healthy! 30 minutes of exercise each day can improve your health.
The Diabetes Program will begin a walking series for three (3) weeks starting January 9 and ending January 27. They will meet at the Tribal Center Monday through Friday, from 9-10AM and later from 4-5PM. Participants that complete 80% of the walking series will be eligible for new walking shoes. Other participants will recieve a water bottle. Rides are available!
Every Step You Take Means A Lot!
- Being active makes your body more sensitive to insulin – which helps you manage your diabetes
- Physical activity helps control blood sugar levels and lowers your risk of heart disease and nerve damage
- You feel happier and sleep better
