Meskwaki Settlement School Art Teacher Debra Shore welcomed Meskwaki artist and seamstress Denise Davenport into the classroom for a special lesson on traditional me skwa swa wa Meskwaki yarn belt weaving. Davenport shared her knowledge and demonstrated the cultural significance of this art form, guiding students through each step of the weaving process. The students were fully engaged, enthusiastic, and eager to learn, making it a meaningful and inspiring experience for everyone involved.
