Meya Roberts along with father Tyrone Roberts, Macael and Marcus Bear, and members of the Hawkeye Community College RedTails wrestling team hosted a freestyle wrestling camp at the Meskwaki Recreation and Community Center on Monday, December 22. The camp was held on the Rec Center turf and provided hands on instruction in freestyle wrestling for youth in grades 1 through 12.
The camp was open to youth community members and MRCC members. Participants not only learned fundamental freestyle wrestling skills and techniques, but also enjoyed an engaging and energetic atmosphere that made learning fun. Youth had the opportunity to train alongside collegiate level athletes while building confidence, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for the sport of wrestling.
