Today we came together at Meskwaki Senior Services to honor our community elders with August birthdays. Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal of Spare ribs & NDN corn, frybread, tagaani & wabikoni, fruit salad, followed by cake, ice cream, and special gifts for the birthday guests. This month we celebrated Laurie Lasley-Santos, Diana Guizar, Joni Mauskemo, Kimberly Ward, Johnathan Buffalo, Jana Kapayou Bear, Henry Walker, and Liz Roberts. The room filled with smiles as everyone joined in song to wish them a very happy birthday. We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate our elders and share another year of life, laughter, and community together.
