Public Safety Message on Extreme Heat

Take a moment to read this important public safety message regarding extreme heat and warning signs of heat stroke.

During the extreme heat please follow these precautions:

  • Take frequent breaks, find an air conditioned space even if only for a short time.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Wear lightweight, loose fitting clothing.
  • Check on the elderly.
  • Make sure pets have shade and water!

Know the warning signs of heat stroke:

  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Not sweating
  • Red, hot and dry skin
  • Rapid, strong pulse
  • May pass out

Call 9-1-1 and take immediate action to cool the person down until help arrives.
