Take a moment to read this important public safety message regarding extreme heat and warning signs of heat stroke.
During the extreme heat please follow these precautions:
- Take frequent breaks, find an air conditioned space even if only for a short time.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Wear lightweight, loose fitting clothing.
- Check on the elderly.
- Make sure pets have shade and water!
Know the warning signs of heat stroke:
- Headache
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Not sweating
- Red, hot and dry skin
- Rapid, strong pulse
- May pass out
Call 9-1-1 and take immediate action to cool the person down until help arrives.
