PRESCRIBED PRAIRIE BURNS COMING SOON
Meskwaki Nation Dept. of Natural Resources will be performing prescribed wildland fire, for management of Prairie, on 375 acres of Conservation Reserve Program land on the Settlement in the Spring of 2025, prior to nesting season start of May 15th. The Bureau of Indian Affairs Wildland Firefighters and Tama/Toledo Fire crews, will also be assisting in these efforts. Fields to be burned are located South of HWY 30, South of E49, East of H Ave., and one small field is in the NE corner of Settlement lands.
