The Meskwaki Annual Powwow Association has made the final decision to move the 109th Annual Meskwaki Powwow to the Casino grounds.
The Outdoor Arena and the surrounding area will be utilized for the powwow. We are in the process of securing equipment and other needed facilities to build a temporary arena on the west side of the Outdoor Arena. This will result in the Vendors being placed in the fenced in area, with the powwow arena on the grassy area instead.
The Iowa River is currently over its banks and is flooding the powwow grounds, the time needed for the river water to recede and the ground to become dry, and the cleanup needed is not going to be feasible for us to host it at the Meskwaki Powwow Grounds this year.
We are currently working with the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Management team to get everything in place, and we are thankful for all their assistance.
