
At a regular meeting conducted on August 14, 2019, Tribal Council voted and approved to extend the Membership Audit to September 30, 2019.
AUDITS MAY BE COMPLETED UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30, 2019.
**Required documents to complete audit: Picture ID such as: Current State-issued ID, Current Tribal ID, Passport ID AND original Social Security Card.
**Documents needed for children: Original birth certificate and Original Social Security Card.

Join the Diabetes Program for a Cooking Demo on Wednesday, August 21st at Noon in the Health Clinic Kitchen!
This demo will be about how to do healthier spin on sweet treats! We will learn how to make homemade popsicles, banana ice cream, and more nutritious brownies.
One lucky participant will win a set of popsicle molds!

MADAC will be hosting a Fun Run & Walk on Wednesday, August 21st at the Meskwaki Health Clinic.
Register at 5:00 pm and the Run/Walk starts at 5:30 pm.
Start and Finish at the Clinic. Route: Clinic to the Casino stop sign and back.
Seniors may walk at their own discretion.

Meskwaki Child Care Program Public Hearing

A new grant proposal has been made regarding the Meskwaki Child Care Program. A public hearing will be held to discuss the proposed changes, answer questions, and ask for feedback.
Light refreshments will be served while supplies last.

The Diabetes Program will be hosting their 2nd Annual Golf Tournament on Sunday, August 25th at the Tama-Toledo Country Club!
*Must sign-up by August 12th!
- 2 person teams
- 1 person on the team must be a patient with the Diabetes Program
- 1 round of golf plus cart paid for by Diabetes Program
- 2-3 teams per hole will play together
- This will be an alcohol-free event

The Green Corn Festival is our FALL seasonal meal, taking the place of the former Fall Harvest Celebration. It will take place on Friday, September 13 at the PowWow Grounds. Seasonal meal will be served at 5:00 pm, with dances and other activities to follow. We will be raffling off a variety of door prizes. This is a family friendly event, free and open to EVERYONE.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable dish kits – a reusable plate and bowl, cup, spoon and fork, and reusable bag to carry everything in. You may also want to bring a cloth napkin and extra containers to bring home leftovers. Everyone who brings a complete dish kit will be able to enter to win EITHER an electric flour mill OR a Bass Pro Shop gift card, both valued at $250. These exclusive raffles will only be open to those who bring reusable dishes. Help us use fewer single use paper and plastic products at our community meals!

Join MADAC as they host a Recovery Fun Run and Walk on September 19th in honor of National Recovery Month!
This Fun Run/Walk will be held at the Meskwaki Health Clinic. Registration at 5:00 pm, and the Run/Walk begins at 5:30 pm!
*All participants will receive special incentives.

Meskwaki Nation Hemp Department is having a Logo Contest! Artists needed to help the Hemp Department design its new logo.
Submit your design idea to hd.exec@meskwaki-nsn.gov by Friday, September 20th at 4:30 pm. Winner to be chosen and announced on September 25th.

A two-day Meskwaki Traditional Arts Workshop is being held on Saturday and Sunday September 21-22 at the Meskwaki Powwow Grounds. *If inclement weather alternate venue will be the Meskwaki Tribal Center.
The following stations will be set up from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm:
- Woodcarving with Luke Kapayou
- Cattail Mat Weaving with Bess Scott
- Bulrush Mat Weaving and Twined Bags with Nina Young Bear, Brenda Wanatee and Kelly Schott
- Basketry with Toni Lasley
Come on out and try your hand at one of these traditional art forms!
