It was an exciting night of Warrior basketball at Meskwaki High School, and the energy in the gym matched the action on the court. Fans filled the stands, loud and supportive from the opening tip to the final buzzer, creating the perfect atmosphere for two memorable games.
The girls varsity team dominated from start to finish, rolling to a decisive 67 to 13 victory over BCLUW. Bree Scabbyrobe led the way with 15 points, hitting 7 of 11 from the field. Isabella Kapayou added 14 points and Dayeci Davenport contributed 10, giving the Warriors a strong offensive trio. On the boards, Dorothy Bear and Martha Blackcloud each pulled down 8 rebounds, helping the team control the paint all night. From scoring to rebounding to defense, the Lady Warriors delivered a complete performance that kept the crowd roaring.
The boys varsity matchup was a nail biter that came down to the last few seconds, with Meskwaki battling hard before falling just short in a 59 to 54 contest. Jarvis Bear and Sevastian Scabbyrobe each poured in 23 points, keeping the Warriors within striking distance throughout the game. Scabbyrobe also added 6 rebounds and a block, while Nathan Bear chipped in 4 boards. With clutch plays, tough defense, and nonstop effort, the boys kept the gym electric right to the end.
