Tribal Council Meeting – January 13, 2020, 10:00 AM

  1. Meeting called to order at 10:15 a.m.
  2. Roll Call

Tribal Council present:  Drayton Roberts, Vice-Chairman; Delonda Pushetonequa, Treasurer; Zane Oldbear; Clinton Bear, Jarvis Bear; Eric Kapayou (entered at 10:16 a.m.)

Staff present: Tamara Mauskemo, Tribal Council Secretary.

  1. Ascertainment of Quorum – A quorum was ascertained with 7 council members present.
  2. Agenda approval-

Item Added #7-School Board Election

The Chairman asked for any changes or additions to the agenda. Motion made by Delonda Pushetonequa to approve the agenda with added item. Drayton Roberts seconded. Vote: 6 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

  2. New Business-Appoint Executive Director

Discussion to appoint Interim Executive Director.

Motion made by Eric Kapayou to appoint JoAnn Youngbear as Interim Executive Director. Clinton Bear seconded. Vote: 3 yes, 2 no, 1 abstained (Drayton Roberts). Motion carried.

  1. Added Item-School Board Elections

Discussion to proceed and notify Election Committee of School Board Elections.

Motion by Jarvis Bear to run the school board elections as soon as possible.  Drayton Roberts seconded. Vote: 6 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

Motion by Jarvis Bear to require the superintendent to provide a list of parents and guardians of children addresses to Election Chair and Executive Director. Delonda Pushetonequa seconded. Vote: 5 yes, 1 no. Motion carried.

Discussion on Interim Comptroller and 401k Administrator.

Motion by Jarvis Bear to appoint Debbie Picker as Interim Comptroller.  Clinton Bear seconded. Vote: 5 yes, 1 no. Motion carried.

Motion by Jarvis Bear to remove Bill Thurman as Plan Administrator for 401k Plan.  Clinton Bear seconded. Vote: 6 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

Discussion on Gaming Commission.

Motion by Clinton Bear to appoint Orrie Lasley Jr. as Interim Gaming Commissioner Chair.  Drayton Roberts seconded. Vote: 6 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.

Motion made by Clinton Bear to adjourn. Drayton Roberts seconded. Vote: 5 yes, 1 no. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 10:42 a.m.
