Meeting called to order at 4:15 p.m.
Roll Call
Presiding Officer: Anthony Waseskuk, Chairman
Tribal Council present: Delonda Pushetonequa, Treasurer; Troy Wanatee; Jarvis Bear; Harvey Davenport Jr.
Absent: Gerald Sanache, Adrian Pushetonequa
Staff present: March Runner, Executive Director; Jay Finch, Attorney General; Bill Thurman, Comptroller
Ascertainment of Quorum – A quorum was ascertained with 5 council members present.
Purpose
The purpose of the special meeting is to discuss the PIE/Medvolt contract for the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel repair and the Super Bowl tickets given to Dan Stromer by the Pepsi Corporation.
PIE/Medvolt Contract for Hotel Remodel
Jay Finch stated that the contract for the work on the hotel was discussed last month. PIE is asking the council to approve $31,810,319.00 so that when the final approval of the contract goes through there will not need to be an additional meeting held for approval of funds. Motion made Jarvis Bear to enter into a contract with PIE/MedVolt for the remodel of the Meskwaki Hotel in the amount of $31,810,319.00. Delonda Pushetonequa seconded. Vote: 4 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.
Acceptance of Superbowl Tickets from Pepsi to Dan Stromer
The Pepsi Corporation selected Dan Stromer’s name to receive Super Bowl tickets. With Pepsi’s rules, the individual receiving the tickets cannot transfer them to anyone or use them any way other than their attendance to the game, therefore selling the tickets, using them as a promotion for the casino or transferring them is not allowed. Motion made by Jarvis Bear to allow MBCH General Manager, Dan Stromer to receive Superbowl Tickets from Pepsi. Delonda Pushetonequa seconded. Vote: 4 yes, 0 no. Motion carried.
