On Friday morning, June 12, 2026, Meskwaki Senior Services participants joined Meskwaki Natural Resources for a field trip to gather ma-ne-ni-aki (milkweed) at the Meskwaki Natural Resources South Farm. The group enjoyed a beautiful morning with breezy weather and plenty of sunshine, making it a perfect day to spend time outdoors.
Participants learned about the importance of milkweed and its role in supporting pollinators and the local ecosystem while harvesting plants in the fields.
A special thank you goes to the Meskwaki Natural Resources staff for sharing their knowledge and guiding the group through the fields. Their efforts helped make the experience both educational and enjoyable for everyone involved.
