Meskwaki Nation Day Celebration – July 13, 2026
Community members, families, youth, and guests gathered at the Meskwaki Recreation Center on Monday, July 13, 2026, for a full day of activities celebrating Meskwaki Nation Day and Meskwaki Proclamation Day.
The celebration began with a walk/run and invocation, followed by traditional games, children’s and youth activities, Wikiyabi making, craft demonstrations, and the Kisko versus Tokani challenges. Participants also competed in the Traditional Moccasin Games Tournament, and the Bone Dice and Cornhole Tournaments.
Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed provided meals, a Meskwaki-themed dessert contest and cake walk, and opportunities to celebrate Meskwaki culture. The evening concluded with a social dance, including intertribal dancing, and specials, and door prize giveaways.
