Community members gathered at the Meskwaki Senior Center March 3–5 for a Matetea and Asiyani sewing class led by seamstress Kathy Shuckahosee. Participants learned to create these traditional regalia pieces, which are worn during Meskwaki ceremonies and powwows. Classes will continue next week at the Senior Center to allow participants time to finish their pieces.
