The babies, toddlers, and young children at Meskwaki Child Care had a wonderful time this summer with the support of our Youth Summer Interns: Sophie Balderas, Layne Steuhm, and Delia Yepez. These interns spent their days engaging with the children, playing, reading, and assisting with daily routines, while gaining valuable hands-on experience in early childhood care and development.
Their presence brought energy, patience, and kindness to the classrooms, and they quickly formed meaningful bonds with the little ones in their care. It has been a joy to watch them grow into nurturing, responsible young leaders over the course of the summer.
As this week marks the end of their internship at Meskwaki Child Care, the children and staff bid them a heartfelt farewell with a special photo shoot on the playground and classrooms. Their time here has left a lasting impression, and they will certainly be missed by both the children and the team.
We wish Sophie, Layne, and Delia all the best in their future endeavors and thank them for their dedication to our youngest community members.
