The Meskwaki Nation strongly condemns Ann Coulter’s recent comment. Saying “we didn’t kill enough Indians” isn’t just offensive, it’s harmful. Words like these spread hate and disrespect toward Native people and make it easier for others to ignore our history and humanity. We stand with other Tribal Nations in calling for accountability. Our people are still here, and we will continue to speak out, stand strong, and honor our ancestors by protecting our future.
“Even when said for shock value, comments like this normalize hatred and treat Native lives as less important,” said Tribal Chairman Vern Jefferson. “But our people have been resilient through every chapter of history. We’ve worked hard to carry our culture forward with respect and dignity, and we will continue doing that, even when faced with ignorance like this.”
