Addiction 101: Understanding the Roots of Addiction
The Meskwaki Nation Probation Department, in partnership with Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare, invites you to an engaging and informative session on addiction.
Led by Christine Riggert, Prevention Specialist with Prairie Ridge, this educational session will take place on Tuesday, August 20th, from 12:00–1:00 PM in the Lower Level Classroom of the Meskwaki Rec Center.
Topics will include:
• Key concepts in understanding addiction
• The medical model of addiction
• Why addiction impacts some individuals more than others
• How changing our language can promote healing and positive outcomes
All are welcome to attend this valuable learning opportunity.
