Radon Testing

Testing in the community for radon is done by placing a small *charcoal test kit in the home. The test kit is harmless, and does not give off any fumes. If any radon is present, the radon particles will attach to the charcoal, and then the charcoal can be analyzed to determine the amount of radon present in the house.

  • There are two types of testing devices
    • Short term (charcoal canister)
      • Place in the lowest livable level for 3-7 days
    • Long term (alpha track)
      • Place in the lowest livable level for no less than 90 days
