Meskwaki Natural Resources

Meskwaki Natural Resources exists to preserve, conserve, and restore the natural resources of the Tribe. Department actions are undertaken to uphold the sovereign rights of the Tribe, provide for future generations, strengthen the Meskwaki culture, and protect Grandmother Earth.

         

Services offered are:

Investigations of dead or diseased wildlife;

Public information on environmental and natural resources related issues;

Inventory and mapping of resource areas, types, quality and wetlands;

Resource and environmental investigations as requested by tribal government or members;

Response to wildlife nuisance or other wildlife complaints;

Ambient Air Quality Monitoring;

Management of Tribal Buffalo Herd;

Prescribed Burning;

Wildlife Management Burning;

Baseline surface water quality sampling;

Iowa River Flood Stage Monitoring;

Annual Rabies and Mange Clinic;

And support of other departments/tribal governments;
