The Meskwaki Housing Program was established to provide safe, modern, quality homes for individuals and families in a fair, cost effective manner. We embrace the ideal that a home is the ultimate expression of our client’s self-esteem and in order to facilitate that, our product and our people must be the best possible. As a result of this responsibility, this program remains committed to seeking out new and innovative technologies and techniques that will ultimately benefit our clients and staff and the Tribe as a whole.
The Meskwaki Housing Program:
Accepts and processes applications for: Single family homes, Apartments, and Mortgage Assistance Program
Builds new homes for qualified tribal members
Provides maintenance services to homeowners
Provides inspection services for new and existing homes
Provides education for homeowners
The construction crew builds and maintains several homes annually. Additionally, the crew rehabilitates existing homes for new owners and remodels homes to allow for handicap accessibility. The housing staff also provides building services to other departments and for community projects.
